Reverend David Nelson – Chairman of Have Shears Will Travel. Fr. David finds his heart filled by reading theology books, playing disc golf, and learning more about people’s spiritual lives. He has a lovely wife, Beth Anne, is the Youth Minister at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Kingwood. They are blessed with a daughter, Grace, who is a toddler.
He grew up in Sugar Land, TX. In college he played baseball and graduated from St. Mary’s University (San Antonio), followed by Virginia Theological Seminary in 2005. Next he served in campus ministry at the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University until early 2011. Fr. David has served as Rector of Christ the King since March of 2011.

Cecile Schutter

has been a resident of Houston since 1986 and has been very active with the Rotary Club of West U since it was chartered in 1995.  She has been in numerous leadership roles as club secretary, treasurer, president, an assistant governor to District 5890, the greater Houston area, and the chair for district grants.

In her private life, Cecile owned West University Travel with her husband and recently sold it after 26 years of operation.  Prior to coming to Houston, Cecile was in the banking sector for 13 years in Canada.  She is now retired and wants to spend her time with charitable organizations.

It was through Rotary that Cecile learned of Have Shears Will Travel and was so inspired by their mission that she had to be involved.  Cecile brings the message of HSWT to all the local rotary clubs and hair salons, plus assist with fundraising and grant writing.

Barbara Goodson –Founder and Executive Director of Have Shears Will Travel. She is a native Houstonian aged 62 and held a barber license since 1978 caring for elderly, shut-in, family, friends, neighbors and church members. Although employed in the oil and gas industry for much of her career, the greatest joy and passion is serving others through her hair styling skills. 


Bob Schorr –  Secretary of Have Shears Will Travel
Prior to founding Twenty-First Insight in February of 2001, Bob was a Vice President with Enron Corp.  In his 22-½ years with the firm, he served in a variety of management positions including media and investor relations, strategic planning, project development, marketing, sales, customer relationship management, communications, advertising, corporate identity, merger integration, joint venture management, organizational development, and executive coaching.
Bob and his wife, Nancy, have three grown children.  Lindsay, BA Music Therapy - Southern Methodist University, 2000, lives in Colorado Springs, CO with her husband, Jon and children, Natalie and Tyler; Andy, BA, East Asian Studies and Politics - Washington & Lee University, 2004, is an entrepreneur and business owner in Beijing, China; and, Julie, BA, Religious Studies and Psychology - University of Richmond, VA, 2008,  and Masters in Higher Education - University of Denver, 2011, lives in Denver with her husband Keenan and is a university Students

Charlie Tyler – Treasurer of Have Shears Will Travel 

Charlie Tyler’s career has spanned over 40 years with beginnings in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he began in the finance industry.  After 8 years in the savings and loan business, he passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant exam in 1979, and moved to the accounting practice of Postlethwaite and Netterville, a large regional accounting firm based in Baton Rouge.  Feeling the desire to be self-employed, Charlie joined Gary Magee, CPA and formed Magee and Tyler, CPAs, where he practiced for ten years.  One of the services offered by Magee and Tyler was technology consulting, which he later brought to Time Solutions.  After a short stint as the CFO of a large industrial valve concern, Time Solutions, Inc. was formed with Richard Morris.  The goal of Time Solutions was to offer state of the art technology to businesses in the area of security, reader technology driven systems, and time and labor management systems, and that goal has continued for the last 20 years.
