In the course of her career she’s worked with top stylists and even participated in a reality show in California called “You’re Hired” with Warner Bros. She now has found the real reason she loves cutting hair and styling hair—to help the unfortunate. She believes that the Lord brought her to Mrs. Barbara Goodson with Have Shears Will Travel charity to give back to others who cannot afford basic grooming services. She says, “What a Godly experience to serve others in this way! It is truly a gift from God to be part of a mission that serves thousands of homeless, hospice and special needs adults throughout greater Houston.”

Michelle Howard – Professional Cosmetologist - A single mom, age 33 with 4 children between ages 5-15. I am a licensed Cosmetologist in 3 states and have been active for 12yrs. Living as well as working in all three states I have also had the opportunity to assist with the less fortunate. Growing up less fortunate myself, daughter of seven from a single mother I know about food pantries, bus tokens, vouchers, shelters, etc. Using some of those benefits and more in my own life sometimes even now I enjoy the fact that I possess a gift that will be a true blessing to others. Being part of Have Shears Will Travel, is going to my lifelong dream of truly being a blessing by bringing the beauty on the inside out of people. As a victim of domestic violence I also understand how people can feel almost lifeless and how a warm hug and gentle smile it can lift one's soul. I can imagine is how much it affects their soul when they can look in the mirror and be proud of the person they see after a few clips of the shears and a blow dryer. I want my life to be a blessing to every soul I come in contact with. My favorite quote is: "Be the change you wish to see". Thank you.
